Dr. Harkins’ Evaluation Process

Dr. Harkins’ Alternative Care is specifically directed to the underlying cause of your health concern. Through patient surveys, examinations, and lab tests Dr. Harkins will get a complete picture of how your body is functioning. Based on these findings Dr. Harkins will recommend a course of treatment that will address your health concerns and more importantly restore your body to optimal performance. Through comprehensive testing, incorporating modern chiropractic and neurological tools and techniques, some of the most advanced nutritional therapies including detoxification programs, diagnostic blood, adrenal, and hormonal testing; Dr. Harkins identifies weaknesses and imbalances within the nervous system. Dr. Harkins corrects or diminishes imbalances by selectively stimulating the nervous system with light, sound, smells, chiropractic joint manipulations, neurological exercise and or targeted nutritional therapies.

Before Your Appointment

Please complete the following form at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment with Dr. Harkins. The medical history you provide, through the survey, will help prepare Dr. Harkins for your Initial Exam. The survey is thorough, so please allow 45-60 minutes to complete.

Your First Visit

During this Initial Exam you will have the opportunity to discuss your health concerns and goals with Dr. Harkins. He will perform preliminary evaluations to determine if it is likely you will respond to the scope of care offered. Please understand, Dr. Harkins only accepts patients that have a strong likelihood of responding well to his treatments. Dr. Harkins may request additional lab test at this time. NOTE: Before any lab test are performed the necessity and any associated cost will be thoroughly explained.

Bring with you any recent lab test or evaluations you feel would help Dr. Harkins in the evaluation process.

Cost of Treatment

Financial and insurance arrangements are made during this visit as well. Not all insurance policies cover the care Dr. Harkins provides, although some do. Rest assured there will be no surprises when it comes to financial obligations. While there are exceptions, rarely does any insurance policy cover nutritional support. If you wish, our staff will be happy to assist you in determining your policy benefits. We highly recommend that you determine your coverage as well. Any service or product not covered by insurance is your responsibility at the time of that visit unless other arrangements have been made.
